Frequently asked questions about Grasshopper Weed Club

Requirements, how to join, access for tourists and the rules of our cannabis club in Barcelona. Everything you need to know before your visit.

The club

What is a cannabis club in Barcelona?

A cannabis club, or cannabis association, is a private non-profit entity whose members meet in a closed space. It is not a point of sale open to the public: we do not serve non-members and nothing is sold at the door. Selling and consuming in public are prohibited. Grasshopper Weed Club operates within that framework: a private, non-profit association with access restricted to members.

Is it legal to consume cannabis in an association in Barcelona?

Consuming in a private, closed space, among members of a non-profit association, is different from consuming in public, which is prohibited and fined. Selling is prohibited as well. Grasshopper Weed Club is not a point of sale open to the public and does not admit anyone who is not a member.

What is the difference between Grasshopper Weed Club and a coffee shop?

A coffee shop is an establishment that is open to the public and sells. A cannabis association neither sells nor serves the public: it is a private space for its members, run on a non-profit basis. Coffee shops do not exist in Spain.
